The YMCA of Bethesda has been a staple of the Bethesda community for over 50 years and over that time the scope and breadth of the services provided have continued to grow. In the latest expansion of services for The Y, APM oversaw a ~4,500 SF addition to the facility along with a full renovation to most of the interior spaces in the existing facility. The addition provides light filled space for the expansion of the cardio and strength offerings. It also houses a new child watch area and expanded staff office spaces. The reallocation of cardio and strength spaces allowed for the creation of a new Mind & Body Studio complete with Barre instruction infrastructure. Shifting staff offices to the addition provided the opportunity for an expanded main lobby along with a community gathering room. The existing locker rooms were reconfigured and fully renovated including new saunas. A new sprinkler system was installed throughout the facility. The successful completion of this project has ensured that the YMCA is now positioned to serve the greater Bethesda area for the next 50 years.
